I'm not a serious contester, but I'll grow up...
I began with VHF contest in 2005, but with
a limited setup (50W transceiver and a 11 elements Yagi) from base QTH never reached the "top
ten" (best result 17th in VHF Contest Veneto 2005, cat. 2F). When time and
weather permits, I join Roberto IWØHLZ in field days and portable multi-op
during VHF contests. Here are some photos during 50 MHz Field Day Sicily 2006
(5th place portable):
In 2006 i was fascinated by HF contests and began to partecipate to CQ WPX,
CQ WW, Iaru HF and other worldwide contests. Here are my best placements till now:

Many of these results (until 2007) were reached using only omniderectional
antennas.
